If you want to enjoy the real Cadbury's chocolate, make sure you get the British version, otherwise you're just getting a remixed version of Hershey's. The difference? With British chocolate, the ingredients are milk, sugar, cocoa mass, cocoa butter, vegetable fat and emulsifiers. In the Hershey-fied, American version, no surprise, the ingredients start with sugar and include lactose, soy lecithin and “natural and artificial flavorings". But, more stores are starting to sell chocolates as they're made overseas and that's a very goof thing. You just have to look for it, and read the label.

So that's why the real cadbury's is so much better! I always wondered why it tasted different in the US.

My local deli has sold Flake bars for years. They're my favorite.

My favorite candy bar is made by Nestle but you can't buy it in the United States. Coffee Crisp is only available in Canada! :-(

I grew up overseas and we could only get British chocolate....Galaxy Bars, Lion Bars, Mars Bars (different from the ones here), Smarties (similar to M&Ms, but not). I went to Vancouver with my husband's family a few years ago and when I found the real Smarties, I had to stock up for my mother and my brother.

My sister lives abroad and the first thing she goes for when she gets here is British chocolate especially Minstrels.
